Writers tend to think everything they write is dire or everything they write is golden, often holding both opinions simultaneously and without contradiction.
While it takes confidence in our abilities to write something, we also need a critical eye to edit our scribbles effectively. This dichotomy can cause writers to undervalue or overvalue their work, or swing between the two.
It helps to have beta readers who can be honest with us. And more importantly, we need to be honest with ourselves.

Thus a key factor in driving products to catch on is public visibility. If something is built to show, it’s built to grow, or as another famous saying goes: “Monkey see, monkey do”.

Like the tide, a trend is almost invisible, but it’s very powerful over the long term. A fad is a short-term phenomenon that might be profitable, but a fad doesn’t last long enough to do a company much good.
